American Express agreed "in principle" to explore a link to American Airlines' direct-connect technology "through aggregation technology ... provided by one or more global distribution systems."
The deal is not yet final, but would give Amex "direct
long-term access to AA's fares, schedules, and customized travel products and
services," according to a joint statement. The terms of the tentative
agreement were not disclosed.
