Amadeus North America chief commercial officer Tom Cates will depart the company at the end of the month,

according to a memo to agency customers from Amadeus North America president and CEO Scott Gutz. Amadeus vice president of leisure and online Stéphane Durand on Jan. 1, 2014, will become chief commercial officer in North America. Cates "has decided that the time is right for him to pursue new horizons, and therefore he will be retiring from the company," according to the memo.
