The International Air Transport Association said "billions" of investment dollars would "make our fleet 25 percent more fuel efficient by 2020
," but nevertheless called on members to "aim to become an industry that does not pollute." Measures to achieve that goal include better air traffic management and the invention of "a zero emissions aircraft in the next 50 years," according to IATA director general and CEO Giovanni Bisignani.
