The European Commission told SkyTeam alliance members it is concerned about stifled competition on certain routes
within the European Union, and between EU airports and other countries, including the United States. Airline members have 12 weeks to reply to the Statement of Objections, a normal step in EC antitrust reviews. Alliance carriers said they "remain confident that they will be able to settle the case amicably in due course." Separately, SkyTeam allies Air France and Northwest told the U.S. Department of Transportation that by mid-July they would begin codes-haring on numerous routes between Detroit and Paris.
