Strong pricing trends and lower operating expenses helped Hertz Global Holdings achieve "record operating results" in the fourth quarter
. Net income was $39.8 million compared with a net loss of $27.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2005. Car rental revenue increased 7 percent to $1.55 billion as rates rose by 3 percent. For full-year 2006, Hertz's net income more than doubled to $116 million.
