Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide sued Hilton Hotels Corp. and two Hilton executives for allegedly stealing "truckloads" of confidential files "to expedite Hilton's entry" into the lifestyle luxury-hotel market
, according to a Starwood statement. Starwood accused former employees Ross Klein and Amar Lalvani, now serving as leaders of Hilton's Luxury & Lifestyle division, of stealing "more than 100,000 electronic files," including "confidential information about Starwood's W hotel brand which Hilton used in the development of its Denizen brand."
