MasterCard Inc. promoted Ajay Banga to CEO, effective July 1, succeeding Robert Selander.
Hired from Citigroup in August 2009 and now serving as president and COO, Banga immediately will join MasterCard's board. Selander will become vice chairman and remain on the board until his retirement at year end. He served as CEO since March 1997.
