Hertz signed Marriott International as the "first major corporate account" for the rental company's car sharing program
. Hertz will station cars at Marriott's Bethesda, Md. headquarters to provide employees "with an environmentally friendly, economical alternative to car ownership and a solution for short-term transportation needs." Hertz expects more clients to replace fixed corporate fleet costs with per-trip car-sharing fees. According to Marriott CFO Arne Sorenson, "Based on this program's success, we will review making it available at our hotels throughout the world."
