British Airways commercial director Martin George resigned in the wake of alleged price fixing
by the airline. "I now recognize that within my department, there may have been inappropriate conversations in violation of company policy in relation to long-haul fuel surcharges," George wrote in a letter to BA chairman Martin Broughton. The U.K. Office of Fair Trading and the U.S. Department of Justice in June said they began investigating alleged cartel activity involving BA and other airlines. BA said communications head Iain Burns also resigned.
