Travel data aggregator Traxo will begin piloting with an
undisclosed client an automatic email inbox scanning capability that searches
for travel confirmation emails, senior vice president of sales Cara Whitehill
said. The feature, which is compatible with Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook, Yahoo and
other email providers, will be available to other clients in the first quarter
of 2017.
As part of Traxo's Capture suite of data aggregation tools,
the feature will enable Traxo clients to scan reservation confirmations and
receipts for flight, hotel, ground transport, rail, dining, and shared
ride details. It will automatically feed the data to Traxo's system, where it
will be processed and enriched with additional details like airport codes and
longitude and latitude locations, Whitehill explained. Travelers can delete
personal trips within the Traxo itinerary mobile app.
A corporation must first approve and configure the feature before
business travelers can opt-in to the service through the Traxo platform.
Companies can elect to scan inboxes as far back as two years. Corporations also
can elect to feed data to Traxo's partners, including Chrome
River, Cornerstone
Information Systems, iJet, Travefy, and Travel
and Transport, among others, Whitehill said.
