New York-based Ovation Travel Group, parent of Ovation Corporate Travel, on Monday announced the purchase of Boston-based regional travel management company Commonwealth Travel Advisors.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Both firms are privately held.

CTA, founded in 1994, operates two offices in Massachusetts and offers corporate travel management services, as well as meetings management and leisure services. CTA's leadership team and staff, including executive officer John Sullivan, will join Ovation, officials said.

"This business combination will complement our organic growth and should resonate well with professional service firms and other service-oriented businesses throughout the greater Boston area," said Ovation chairman and CEO Paul Metselaar in a statement.

According to BTN's 2010 Business Travel Survey, Ovation Corporate Travel tallied more than $226 million in sales reported to ARC, generated by more than 264,000 air transactions.
