Databasics made available a new tool to help organizations track how much time employees spend on self-service travel arrangements.
"With the shift of responsibility to employees for making their own travel arrangements, organizations can reduce TMC costs and administrative personnel, but this shift is not free," according to Databasics, which noted that the vast majority of self-service travel planning occurs during normal business hours. "Adding time tracking for selected activities emphasizes to the employee that a reasonable balance must be struck between optimizing his itinerary and doing it cost-effectively. The metrics enable management to make better travel policy decisions." The new Databasics Time product is integrated into the company's expense reporting tool.
