BCD Travel today announced it has acquired a majority stake in its Costa Rican partner for an undisclosed amount. San José, Costa Rica-based Supracolor has operated as BCD Travel since 2006, handling about 350 corporate accounts with annual travel sales near $12 million, according to BCD.
BCD currently operates a 50-person call center that handles reservations for Latin and South America and some service support for some U.S. calls.
Last year, BCD took an undisclosed ownership stake in its Brazilian agency partner, giving it an ownership stake in all its Latin American "driver markets." It since has labeled the region as an area of emphasis in CEO Joop Drechsel's three-year strategic growth plan
