Hollis Harris—who was a top executive at Delta, Continental and Air Canada and one of the fathers of the Star Alliance—died Wednesday at the age of 84. Harris spent the majority of his career at Delta, which he joined in 1954, and worked his way up to president and COO in 1987. He joined Continental Airlines as president and CEO in 1990 and took over the same role at Air Canada two years later. While at Air Canada, he and Stephen Wolf, then United Airlines' chairman, signed a strategic agreement that grew into the Star Alliance, according to the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame.
