Delta led major North American carriers in
on-time performance in August, getting 84.7 percent of flights to the gate
within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival times, according to FlightStats.
Alaska Airlines, United Airlines and American Airlines also had on-time rates
above the monthly average of 77.6 percent, as did Canadian low-cost carrier
WestJet and U.S. ultra-low-cost carriers Spirit Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
