Delta and Korean Air have signed an agreement
for a transpacific joint venture that will combine sales efforts and expand
codesharing and co-location at key hubs. Following through on a memorandum of
understanding signed
in March, the carriers plan to create a combined network of more than 290
destinations in the Americas and more than 80 in Asia, pending regulatory
approvals. In advance of the JV, Delta has added nonstop service between
Atlanta and Seoul, and this summer, Korean will expand its service to both San
Francisco and Los Angeles.
