Air France-KLM has signed an "enhanced cooperation
agreement" with India-based Jet Airways that will include sales
coordination and capacity growth between Amsterdam, Paris and India, the
carriers announced.
Having expanded
their codeshare network last year, the carriers now plan to deepen their
partnership including schedule coordination, making connections between the
carriers more seamless for travelers and reciprocal benefits across their
respective frequent flyer programs. KLM recently launched service between
Amsterdam and both Mumbai and Bengaluru, and Jet Airways also recently launched
service between Chennai and Paris, and the carriers plan to further grow the
network between their hubs.
Paired with Air France-KLM's transatlantic
partnership with Delta, the new agreement will establish "global
cooperation connecting the three continents," according to the carrier. Air
France-KLM chairman and CEO Jean-Marc Janaillac said the two combined networks carry
1.2 million passengers between India and Europe each year, and half of those
are traveling onward to North America. Delta and partner Virgin Atlantic
recently expanded
their codesharing with Jet Airways, as well.
