Steve Singh will leave SAP at the end of the month, SAP
announced. He currently is CEO of Concur and president of SAP Business Networks
and Applications, but SAP is shuffling management and departments. On May 1, SAP
president of Global Customer Operations Robert Enslin, who also is an executive
board member, will become president of the new Cloud Business Group, which
includes Concur.
"When SAP acquired Concur Technologies, we knew Steve
would play a significant role in strengthening the SAP cloud portfolio,"
according to SAP. "We also knew he would eventually go back to his
start-up roots."
Singh's latest startup, CenterCard,
for which he is listed as chairman, was announced in March and combines virtual
card technology and traditional payment cards. His SAP bio also lists him as a
member of the board of each nanoscale metal maker Modumetal and open-source
integration software provider Talend, as well as chairman of app maker and
distributor platform Docker.
The Cloud Business Group Enslin will oversee also will
include procurement tool Ariba, vendor-management system Fieldglass, human
capital-management platform SuccessFactors, e-commerce solution Hybris and SAP's
SMB Solutions group. Until now, SAP has grouped Concur, Ariba and Fieldglass in
the Business Networks and Applications group under Singh.
According to Singh's bio on SAP's website, he also oversaw Data-as-a-Service,
SAP Business One, SAP Anywhere, SAP Business ByDesign and SAP Connected Health.
SAP
acquired Concur in December 2014 for $8.3 billion. A month later, Singh's
fellow Concur co-founders—Mike Hilton and Rajeev Singh, who also is Steve's
brother—left the company. Steve Singh's exit follows the departure of former
Concur president Elena
Donio in November.
