Air Canada passenger revenue increased 13.5
percent year over year in the second quarter to C$3.5 billion, including a 14.6
percent increase in business cabin revenue. A 13.6 percent rise in traffic
propelled the increase in passenger revenue. The carrier increased capacity
13.5 percent, having added 16 international and U.S. routes during the second
quarter, according to president and CEO Calin Rovinescu. Air Canada reported a
net income of C$300 million, up from C$186 million in the second quarter of
2016.
