American Express Global Business Travel's reseller agreement
with Concur ended on Sept. 30 without renewal, the companies have confirmed. As
such, the mega is no longer among the travel management companies that promote and
resell Concur Travel booking technology to new users.
As for Amex GBT clients that already operate under a Concur
reseller deal, the expiration of the agreement could prompt an eventual
transition to another T&E solution down the road. As for Amex GBT clients
that have a direct relationship with Concur, there is no impact. "Existing
Concur Travel customers’ contracts will be honored," Concur said in a
statement. It added, "GBT and Concur will continue to fully support our
joint clients."
The termination of the agreement coincides with Amex GBT's
acquisition of T&E technology operator KDS, which was announced
in August and just closed.
Even so, Amex GBT stated it "will continue to work with and support other
online booking tools across global marketplaces." Indeed, Amex GBT
recently renewed a multiyear reseller agreement
with Deem.
"GBT has been negotiating in good faith towards a
renewal but was unable to reach agreement with Concur at this time," Amex
GBT commented. "Concur will continue to be a valued GBT partner. We are
committed to providing our clients with choices when it comes to an OBT
provider, including Concur, to offer a competitive user experience and the best
options to address their individual needs."
