BTN Names NBTA President Travel Manager Of The Year
Salt Lake City - Business Travel News last night named Kevin Iwamoto as its 18th travel manager of the year. Iwamoto, who serves as president of the National Business Travel Association and global air and car supplier manager for Hewlett-Packard Co., earned the award for his innovative work on HP's airline contracts, GDS audits and online car rental auctions.
He also shouldered incredible responsibility as NBTA's leader during one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of the business travel industry. Even before Sept. 11, Iwamoto brought new leadership to several NBTA committees and tasked these groups to develop new industry standards, many of which were presented during NBTA's convention here this week. Iwamoto also worked to close the gap between the association's allied and direct members, to bring cohesiveness among the various local chapters and to represent the entire industry on Capitol Hill.
