Belgian expense management provider Xpenditure has launched
in the U.K. Xpenditure processes and reimburses expenses on a line-item basis,
integrates card feeds and applies optical character recognition to receipt
images to extract data like merchant, date, time, cost and currency. The system
integrates with several accounting software providers and enterprise resource
planning platforms; project management services Slack, Dropbox and Evernote;
on-demand ride service Lyft; and other third parties.
In March 2017, employee-services firm Sodexo acquired
Xpenditure. A month later, Xpenditure's Boris
Bogaert, now Sodexo Mobility & Expense COO, wrote in a post on TNW that the
deal gave his company opportunity to scale, including access to Sodexo's
500,000 corporate customers. Sodexo operates in more than 80 countries, while
Xpenditure now reaches 60.
Sodexo's Big T&E Aims
Sodexo also acquired iAlbatros' Maya business travel booking
tool a year ago. A Sodexo spokesperson told BTN today that the company will integrate Xpenditure and Maya into a
complete T&E management solution based on artificial intelligence and
predictive analysis and will launch it this spring. Xpenditure and Maya
will continue to operate as independent tools, as well. The spokesperson said Sodexo aims to become one of the three key T&E
players within three years.
