Following a pilot
with several hundred BMO Financial Group employees, the bank and MasterCard
will begin rolling out biometric authentication to North American corporate
clients in January. With Identity Check, mobile users can authenticate
purchases using fingerprints or "selfie" pictures. Following the
pilot, 74 percent of users found biometrics easier to use than passwords, and
the majority would use the authentication method for online payment security in
the future, according to MasterCard.
