After less than nine months as CEO of AirPlus International
North America, Ron DiLeo left the business travel payment company to join
Partnership Travel Consulting, according to PTC founder and CEO Andrew Menkes.
DiLeo will serve as president of the travel management
consulting firm, a newly created position. "I'm relying on him to
collaborate with me on the strategic global growth of the company," Menkes
told BTN.
DiLeo joined the AirPlus North American subsidiary as CEO on
Dec. 1, 2012, following a stint as executive director of the Association of
Corporate Travel Executives. His résumé also includes management positions with
American Express, Rosenbluth International and British Airways transatlantic
subsidiary OpenSkies.
Menkes said the addition of DiLeo was "part of a strategic
plan to grow the team with qualified, seasoned executives."
AirPlus president of the Americas, Asia/Pacific and global
sales Volker Huber "has assumed the day-to-day management of AirPlus
International's operations in the United States on an interim basis during a
transitional phase," according to a statement emailed to BTN by an AirPlus spokesperson. "In
terms of the business, 2013 is another year of double-digit growth for AirPlus
in the U.S. and we are well-positioned to further boost our volumes."
