Quincy, Mass.-based online group reservation firm Passkey last month announced the launch of two systems that e-mail key event information to those involved in the event housing process, such as hotel staff and meeting planners. The "Alerts" system will send an e-mail as soon as pre-set conditions are met, such as when a room block reaches a certain percentage of capacity. The "Updates" system allows users to receive information, such as room block status, on a regular basis, such as weekly or daily. Additional Smart Alerts, as the systems are called, are planned.
"We are thrilled to be the first company in the industry to offer this innovative technology," Passkey president and CEO Greg Pesik said in a statement. "E-mail is the most ubiquitous communication tool and by taking advantage of its widespread use, we are able to make Passkey even more useful and user-friendly."
Smart Alerts allow for an unlimited number of alerts per event and an unlimited amount of recipients, as well as an address book to manage them.
