MasterCard Upgrades Corporate Reporting

December 06, 2007 - 12:00 AM ET

MasterCard Worldwide this week announced the launch of an enhanced version of its Web-based expense reporting and data management system to provide corporate customers with global travel and entertainment expense analysis capabilities.

MasterCard's Smartdata.gen2 is a scalable reporting tool that can leverage data, powered by MasterCard's global data repository, from hotel folios, airlines, car rental, rail and other data supplied by travel agencies, according to MasterCard. Monitoring can be customized to provide spending alerts and other tailored reports, and the tool also can export data to other programs such as Excel or enterprise resource planning systems.

"Capitalizing on over 10 years of Smart Data technology expertise, MasterCard Smartdata.gen2 enables unsurpassed insights into expense information, while making it easier for our issuers to service their customers," Steve Abrams, MasterCard's global product group executive for commercial products, said in a statement.

MasterCard now is phasing in the elements of its new reporting tool, according to the company.
