Marriott To Provide Hotel Folio Data For All But Ritz By Year-End

April 11, 2006 - 12:00 AM ET

Marriott International announced today that it was expanding its delivery of hotel folio data to Marriott Rewards members staying at any of its hotels except Ritz-Carlton. Marriott plans to expand the entire program to all of its non-Ritz guests by year-end, becoming the first multi-brand hotel company to make the practice standard.

Once Marriott expands the delivery of hotel folio data to all customers later this year, each guest at checkin will be given the option of having their folio e-mailed to them.

Marriott last April initiated providing hotel folio data-a fully itemized, electronic bill-to a small number of corporate accounts, but further deployed it after customers overwhelmingly voiced favor for it. Hotel folio simplifies expense reporting by tracking travel expenses more transparently, and making it possible to prepopulate expense reports and eliminate paper from the expense reporting process. Marriott sends folio data to customers through its partnership with corporate credit card issuers. Marriott already has deals in place with American Express, MasterCard and Visa.
