AirPlus Taps Hanlon For CEO As Crum Dons ACTE Hat

December 13, 2006 - 12:00 AM ET

Payment tool supplier AirPlus International has named a new CEO for its U.S. sales operations as the current CEO, Richard Crum, prepares to take the helm of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives.

Spencer Hanlon, now AirPlus' managing director, will take over the CEO title Jan. 1, prior to Crum's succession of Greeley Cook as ACTE's president in July 2007 (BTNonline, Oct. 23). Crum will remain president and U.S. spokesperson for AirPlus, the world's largest issuer of the Universal Air Travel Plan, and Hanlon will oversee day-to-day sales operations.

Hanlon will take on about half of Crum's current responsibilities, freeing him to focus on ACTE activities, as well as strategic opportunities available to AirPlus, according to the company. The two plan to work together to continue AirPlus' growth in the U.S. market, according to the company.
