After 30 years in the travel agency world and three years
helping build GoldSpring Consulting, Colleen Black retired Jan. 1 to work on a
family business, Light Bulbs Etc., and to spend time with family.
Black joined Thomas Cook in 1985, Rosenbluth in 1990 and
Business Travel International in 1996. BTI merged with World Travel Partners,
which eventually merged with other travel management companies to become BCD
Travel, where she was VP of global sales. From 2007 to 2014, she worked for
Carlson Wagonlit Travel and AirPlus International.
Three months after Mark Williams founded GoldSpring
Consulting in March 2014, Black joined as partner, leading sales and helping
launch the marketing consulting division Dots & Lines in July 2017.
GoldSpring SVP Katharine Williams will head up Dots & Lines.
Former BCD Travel Americas president Danny Hood said, "I
view her as an icon of the travel industry. … We had great success and fun
together, due in large part to her off-the-charts skills at building trust and
long-term relationships."
