Wolfgang Neumann has resigned as president and CEO of The
Rezidor Hotel Group. Set to replace Neumann is Federico Gonzalez Tejera, who
has left his position as CEO of Carlson Hotels. Tejera, the former
CEO of NH Hotels, had only headed Carlson since
January.
The executive shuffle comes after HNA Tourism Group acquired
Carlson Hotels and, with it, a majority
stake in Rezidor. Neumann will serve as a nonexecutive director on the
Rezidor board. John Kidd will take over as CEO of Carlson. He previously served
as president of HNA Hospitality Group.
The two companies also formed a global steering committee
to provide strategic guidance to the Carlson and Rezidor management teams, as
well as insight and counsel on sales and marketing, IT, global resources and
franchisee agreements. The committee will feature an equal number of
representatives from both companies and will include Tejera and Kidd, as well
as other executives from business units across Rezidor and Carlson.
