The midprice Four Points by Sheraton brand will increase its
footprint to 28 countries by the end of the year with 10 hotels slated to open
in the next few months, parent company Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide
announced Tuesday.
Upcoming properties include hotels in Galveston, Texas; Tucson,
Ariz.; and Lagos, Nigeria, by the end of October. In November and December,
Starwood will open Four Points properties in Houston; Memphis, Tenn.; Tripoli,
Libya; Bangkok, Thailand; and Tai'an, China, along with two properties in
India.
Starwood president of global development Simon Turner
credits a billion-dollar revitalization plan of the brand with spurring its
development. "We're seeing tremendous excitement among our partners and
developers around the world for this brand," he said in a statement.
