Extended Stay America filed for an initial public offering.
Currently owned by a trio of investors, including the Blackstone Group, which bought it out of bankruptcy in 2010, ESA owns and operates 682 hotels across the United States and Canada. Since 2010, the company increased average daily rate by 22.8 percent and revenue per available room by 21.4 percent, and invested more than $400 million for its properties, according to a July 19 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
