In 2019, Delta will relaunch service to Mumbai, its first service to India in about a decade. Delta CEO Ed Bastian credited the recent agreements between the U.S. and each Qatar and the United Arab Emirates for the decision. Delta had pulled out of India saying the Gulf carrier competition made service to India "economically unviable." Delta also plans to expand codesharing with partner Jet Airways in conjunction with the new service.
