Airline content platform Routehappy has hired
e-commerce executive Olivia Mark as chief marketing officer to craft merchandising
strategies for airlines that "build on successes from outside the travel
industry." Mark's experience includes managing wine and e-commerce at
meal-kit supplier Blue Apron and merchandising and international expansion
roles at Quidsi, an online marketplace acquired and eventually shuttered by
Amazon. Mark said she planned to work with airlines to "help them develop
unique merchandising strategies that offer flyers exactly the right products at
the right time" so that "flight shopping will no longer be a race to
the lowest price."
