American
Express Global Business Travel has appointed Doug Anderson as CEO. Anderson
previously held the same role at leading competitor Carlson Wagonlit Travel. Chairman
Greg O'Hara has held the post at Amex GBT temporarily since Bill Glenn stepped
down April 22. Two days earlier, CWT had announced abruptly it was replacing
Anderson with former Travelport chief commercial officer Kurt Ekert, saying
Anderson was "leaving to pursue other opportunities." Anderson spent
nine years at CWT, originally as CFO. O'Hara said in a statement Amex GBT
appointed Anderson as "our infrastructure transformation is nearing
completion and our M&A activity is ramping up quickly. We are making and
will continue to make sweeping technology investments." Doug Anderson
discussed Amex GBT's future with The Beat,
