Tom Seddon has left his job as chief marketing
officer for Extended Stay America to pursue a master's degree in data science
at the University of California, Berkeley, according to ESA. He joined the
company in 2012 and played significant roles in taking ESA public in November
2013 and in the brand's revitalization efforts in recent years. Executive vice
president of revenue management Tom Buoy is joining the executive team to
oversee e-commerce and marketing communications, in addition to his current
role. COO Tom Bardenett will take on additional responsibility for the sales
team.
