Total travel agency
sales dollar volume last month grew more than 21 percent over August 2009, as the number
of transactions climbed more than 10 percent, ARC reported Thursday.
The rate of
year-over-year growth in August outpaced that reported for July, when agency
sales grew only 14 percent and transactions grew 3 percent.
ARC sales last month
totaled nearly $6.3
billion, marking the eighth consecutive month of year-over-year growth in 2010.
That figure also surpassed August 2008's total sales of less than $6.2 billion,
but did not reach July 2007's more than $6.6 billion in total agency sales.
