Air France-KLM chairman and CEO Jean-Marc Janaillac has announced his resignation after Air France staff rejected a multi-year pay agreement. More than 55 percent of Air France employees voted against a proposal to increase wages by 7 percent over four years, including a 2 percent increase this year. About four-fifths of employees participated in the vote, which began April 26 and ended on Friday. The carrier has seen 13 days of strikes since they began in February. Janaillac will submit his resignation at a meeting with the Air France-KLM and Air France boards on Wednesday, according to a statement by Air France. He has been CEO of Air France-KLM since July 2016, replacing Alexandre de Juniac, who now leads the International Air Transport Association. Air France CEO Franck Terner and the carrier's management will oversee operations upon Janaillac's departure.
