Prism Group Inc. today named General Electric as its newest corporate account for the Avion data consolidation and management system. Global data consolidation for GE will commence in June, Prism said. A GE travel management official could not immediately be reached.
Prism vice president Les Baker said the system now has more than 10 corporate users. "Really we focus on the largest and most advanced," he said. "Our niche is the high end." GE and IBM were the largest U.S. corporate travel accounts in 2002, both spending an estimated $270 million on U.S. booked air travel. GE regularly is recognized as a travel management innovator and pioneer. In 2003,
BTN recognized its European travel manager, Keith Mullineux, as International Travel Manager of the Year
(BTN, Oct. 20, 2003).
