Location and History
Saskatoon's "castle on the river" was built by the Canadian National Railway and opened in 1935. Named for the Governor General of Canada at the time, the Earl of Bessborough, it was, and still remains, a classic historic hotel.
The nine-story, 225-room hotel was originally oriented toward the downtown CNR train station, but upgrades to the South Saskatchewan River walk have made the five-acre Elizabethan gardens a focal point for festivals and special occasion...
