Location and History
Two long blocks east of Times Square, this small boutique-hotel—once home to painter John Butler Yeats—has a hard time measuring up to the excellent hotels that line this street: the Royalton, Algonquin, Iroquois and Sofitel hotels.
While its public areas impart a memorable sense of place, and small rooms are the norm in this part of town, the entry-level digs here are closetlike. Location is the hotel's saving grace.
