Wyndham Hotel Group properties in the first quarter of 2011 raised
average daily rates by 1.4 percent year over year. Occupancy increased by 2.5
percentage points to 43.5 percent, and revenue per available room was up 7.4
percent.
Average daily rates were up in several of Wyndham's midprice
and budget hotel brands, including Wingate, Ramada, Baymont and Days Inn.
Average rates at the company's flagship upscale brand, however, were down by
5.6 percent, though occupancy was up.
Net income for Wyndham Worldwide, which includes the lodging
unit and Wyndham's vacation rentals and ownership businesses, increased 44
percent year over year to $72 million.
