Enterprise Holdings on Thursday reported increased revenues
and fleet size during the fiscal year 2010.
The company—which, unlike its other competitors in the car
rental sphere, is privately held—said worldwide revenues during the fiscal year
that ended July 31 reached $12.6 billion, up 4 percent from the $12.1 billion
in revenue reported in the 2009 fiscal year. Enterprise in part credited the
growth with the integration of the Alamo and National brands, which it acquired
in 2007, into its regional subsidiaries.
“Our acquisition continues to pay off long-term, and the
seamless integration of all three car rental brands is providing positive
momentum as we move into fiscal 2011,” Enterprise chairman and CEO Andrew
Taylor said in a statement.
Enterprise also reported that it cut total expenses by 6.8
percent during the fiscal year and that its rental fleet ended the year up a
record 11 percent from the prior year.
