American Airlines Appoints DeCross To Head Corporate Sales

August 20, 2010 - 02:40 PM ET

By Jay Boehmer

American Airlines on Friday announced Derek DeCross, a 14-year American Airlines veteran, is assuming leadership of the carrier's corporate sales force as vice president and general sales manager, replacing Kurt Stache, who will move to London as vice president of international.

DeCross will be responsible "for developing all sales policies worldwide" and lead the carrier's efforts in managing relationships with corporate clients and travel management companies. Stache, meanwhile, will be responsible for the carrier's business in the Atlantic and Pacific regions, reporting directly to American president Tom Horton.

The carrier said both would play a key role in developing American's joint venture with British Airways and Iberia, as will Maya Leibman, who was appointed president of the AAdvantage program.
