United Airlines launched annual subscriptions for Economy Plus seating and checked baggage.

For $499, an individual passenger can reserve for a year Economy Plus seats for travel within the continental United States. A $699 subscription includes all flights globally. "Economy Plus seating, when available, remains complimentary for Premier-level MileagePlus members," according to the airline. United's annual checked-bag subscriptions range from $349 for an individual checking one bag on flights within the continental United States to $999 for an individual with up to eight travel companions checking two bags on a global basis.
