The United Kingdom-based global travel management company
HRG announced this week that it would introduce the mobile itinerary management
application TripCase worldwide. TripCase is owned by the travel technology
company and global distribution system provider Sabre, but HRG director of
technology product development Paul Saggar said the application is
"GDS-agnostic" and also can handle information from non-GDS sources.
TripCase can be used to forward itineraries to mobile phones
and send alerts relevant to the traveler's location. HRG has started piloting
the product with corporate clients around the world. Saggar said the pilots
would last up to three months.
"There has been lots coverage in the press about all
things mobile, so customers have been asking us what we are doing and if they
can be involved in the pilot program," said Saggar. "It is something
we think will add real value to a trip."
