Starwood To Provide E-Folio Data To Amex Cardholders

September 12, 2007 - 12:00 AM ET

American Express today announced it has signed an agreement with Starwood Hotels & Resorts to provide electronic folio data for corporate clients. At the same time, the corporate card supplier said it has enhanced its hotel folio reporting capabilities at its e-servicing site.

Under the terms of the agreement, Starwood will provide American Express corporate cardholders with breakdowns of spending at more than 400 Starwood properties—which include the St. Regis, Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, Four Points by Sheraton and Le Meridien brands—in the United States in Canada. Worldwide, Starwood has about 850 properties in more than 95 countries.

Starwood joins Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Choice Hotels International, Marriott International and Omni Hotels in providing the data to American Express. The agreements cover more than 40 percent of global corporate card spend for American Express clients at more than 9,000 hotel properties worldwide.

The Starwood/American Express partnership is the largest e-folio announcement since InterContinental Hotels Group and MasterCard announced their e-folio agreement late last year (BTN, Dec. 4, 2006).

In addition to the agreement with Starwood, American Express also announced today that it has added room-rate analysis to its reporting capabilities through American Express @ Work. The report provides data on average, minimum and maximum room rates for individual properties and cities, and which are the most popular.
