NBTA Assumes Management Of Government Travel Forum
The National Business Travel Association and its Government Travel Group today announced that in 2008 it would manage the National Travel Forum, a government travel and relocation event that occurs every two years. The baton is being passed to NBTA from the U.S. General Services Administration, which led the 2006 National Travel Forum this week in Los Angeles.
"As a member of NBTA and chair of its GTG Advisory Board, I've seen the quality of NBTA events and educational content and am confident NTF will continue to flourish in the NBTA GTG environment," Becky Rhodes, deputy associate administrator for the office of government-wide policy in GSA's office of travel, transportation and asset management, said in a statement.
In addition to workshops, sessions and vendor exhibitions, the National Travel Forum said it allows attendees the opportunity to network and interact with policymakers from federal agencies involved with the regulations, operation, maintenance and scheduling of official travel.
"NBTA is honored to be given the opportunity to manage an event as important as NTF and pleased to expand our relationship with the government travel and relocation community," Suzanne Fletcher, NBTA president and CEO, said in a statement. "With the addition of the NTF to the NBTA portfolio, we will be better positioned to capitalize on those synergies to the benefit of the entire travel management community, while maintaining the unique identity of NTF."
