HRG last month announced a restructuring of its European senior management team, including the creation of a meetings position.
Reto Bacher, who formerly served as president of Europe, has taken on the newly created position of president of events and meetings management and sports. His former position has been taken over by Kevin Ruffles, who has added that to his position as president of Asia/Pacific.
"The events and meetings market is a huge growth area as corporate clients increasingly realize that specialist companies such as HRG can help them control and maximize their expenditure in this area, which often proves to be as large as their spend on corporate travel management," Bacher said in a prepared statement.
HRG previously realigned its organizational structures, creating region-specific European positions
(BTNonline, Aug. 6) and creating a North American regional structure by integrating its Canadian and United States operations
(BTN, May 1, 2006).
