Wyndham Worldwide will be the name of Cendant Corp.'s new hospitality company once it spins off its lodging business later this year, the company announced yesterday.
The plan to separate Cendant's four groups-real estate, travel distribution, hospitality, and vehicle rental-into independent, publicly traded companies by year-end 2006 was announced last October.
Cendant acquired the Wyndham brand from The Blackstone Group around the same time that the company announced its intent to split
(BTNonline Sept. 14, 2005).
Wyndham Worldwide will include nine lodging brands, including Wyndham, Ramada, Super 8 and Days Inn.
